May 17, 1958. The Marks family gives birth to a baby boy, Brent.
Brent grew up in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. His father Les was an assistant manager in a liquor store; his mother Shirley, a telephone operator. Brent also has two sisters.
Growing up, Brent was actively involved with things at school. He began to curl in junior high. When he reached high school he joined the sports teams, everything outdoors like: Football, Rugby, Soccer, Baseball, Track and Field and Golf, to everything indoors like Badminton, Basketball and Volleyball. Other than sports, Brent Marks was keenly involved in the Debate Club, Drama Club and was the Social Convener for his school's Student Council.
Outside of school, Brent would spend his time listening to some of his favorite bands like the Guess Who and BTO 6, or watching some of his favorite TV shows like: The Partridge Family, John Wayne, Rio Lobo, The Rockford Files, Kojak and Star Trek.
Brent started working in high school. Some of his first jobs included a grocery clerk for Safeway and making pizzas for Pizza Place.
A few years after he had graduated high school, Brent started working at Century 21 as a licensed Real Estate Agent in 1979.
In mid September 1985 Brent met up with his blind date. Little did he know that she, Marguerite Paulhus, was going to be his future wife. Brent explains this moment as, “She solidified and clarified my life, gave me purpose and direction.”
Brent left real estate for a time and traveled the globe, winning awards for his sales and marketing expertise in the auto industry. But in December 2002, Brent retired from the car business and returned to his first love, real estate. According to Brent, he made this decision because, “I love to work with people, and the thrill of a deal.”
Brent and his wife now live in Newmarket, Ontario.
